August, 2008; Sarteano Chamber Choral Conducting
Workshop; Sarteano, Italy (Tuscany) with Simon Carrington, Bronislawa Falinska and Brian O'Connell.
This intensive conducting workshop is geared for music educators and choral conductors with strong vocal ability who are interested in rehearsing and performing chamber choral music. We heartily welcome qualified singers who are interested in attending the workshop in a non-conducting capacity; who love to sing in a chamber group environment and/or are very specifically looking to learn rehearsal and conducting techniques. Up to two graduate credits are available through The Boston Conservatory.
There are three possible tiers of participation: Full Conductor, Conducting Auditor, and Singer. The two-part
morning session will consist of Vocal Pedagogy with Bronislawa, using
the Rohmert Method of Functional Voice Training, and clinics on developing
a vital chamber choir, with Brian. The afternoon sessions will consist
solely of conducting Master Classes with Simon. This year we are again
delighted to offer a Q&A/Dialogue session with Simon. |

Next year in Auckland, home to almost half our choirs, (61 choirs from 47 schools this year), we're running a choral festival for a week culminating in a two day competition in the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell www.holy-trinity.org.nz Owen Sharpe, Secretary owensharpe@gmail.com |
