WOKINGHAM CHORAL ACADEMY
07/08/10
Wokingham Choral Academy seeks a Music Director/Voice Trainer from September 2010
Wokingham Choral Society has just been granted funding by the Arts Council England to launch a new Choral Academy and is seeking an enthusiastic MD/Voice Trainer to lead it. We have over 100 eager potential members, the majority of whom have been fired with enthusiasm as a result of attending one of our two successful singing courses held earlier this year. This is a rare opportunity to take on a group of enthusiasts and help them grow into really confident singers.

Unlike other local choirs the Academy will be more 'curriculum' led than 'performance' led. The curriculum, defined by the Music Directors of both choirs, will incorporate the basic rudiments of vocal production and music theory. Whilst the Academy will present occasional concerts, the chief purpose is to mark the accomplishment of learning goals rather than presentation of music for its own sake.

Rehearsals: Thursday evenings 7.30 - 9pm at Emmbrook Junior School starting in September.
Remuneration: negotiable

Please email academy@wokingham-choral-society.org.uk or call Jenny Eaglen on 0118 978 1260 for a recruitment pack.
Closing date for applications: 30th August 2010
