Bolton Music Service (GM Music Hub Lead) would like to appoint a new Choir Director, from September 2024, for their flagship adult choir, the BMS Singers. This is a 40/50 strong SATB choir of experienced choral singers, able to read music, and used to performing both a cappella and accompanied choral music from the Renaissance to the present day. The current director is retiring from the choir after 35 years of wonderful service.
The choir rehearses weekly during term time on Tuesday evenings from 7.00 - 9.00pm at St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School, Bolton, supported by an accompanist. The choir performs around 6 concerts per year, locally and occasionally in other areas of the UK, regularly collaborating with other ensembles/choirs.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced choral director to work with and shape their own adult SATB choir, whilst also being part of the GM Music Hub and the wide range of choral and vocal opportunities which the Music Hub has to offer.
The current rate of pay for rehearsals is £26.50 per hour.
The closing date for applications is Monday 13th May, 5.00pm. Interviews and auditions will be held during May/June.
