Music Director

Wales

Organisation: Cardiff Polyphonic Choir

Cardiff Polyphonic Choir is a well-established, auditioned mixed-voice choir of around 60 singers with an excellent reputation and a friendly, welcoming ethos. Following an extremely successful nine-year tenure, Music Director Neil Ferris will step down at the end of April 2015, and we are seeking another inspiring Music Director to continue to develop the choir, its singing skills and repertoire. We perform at least three major concerts a year, sometimes with professional orchestra and soloists, and seek a Director with proven choral and orchestral experience who can motivate our members to high standards of performance, in an engaging and enthusiastic manner. We rehearse at Howells School in Cardiff on Thursday evenings 7pm-9.15pm.

If you have the vision and ability to lead this flourishing choir, please download the relevant information from our website www.cardiffpolyphonic.org.uk and apply by email to the Secretary Rachel Davies on Cardiffpolyphonic@yahoo.co.uk enclosing a CV and a covering letter outlining why you want the post and what you believe you can bring to the choir. Candidates are also asked to submit suggested programming for two seasons. Each season should contain three distinct programmes, one of which is with a small-medium size orchestra and the other two unaccompanied and /or with one or two instruments (e.g. piano/organ). If possible, please give links to any on-line examples of your work.

Closing date: Monday 22 September 2014. Selected candidates will be interviewed on Saturday 1st November and shortlisted candidates will be asked to take part of a rehearsal on either Thursday 20 or Friday 21 November.
