The Music Centre provides music education, instrument tuition, choral, orchestral and other instrumental group opportunities for people of all ages and abilities (see www.lcmt.org.uk) and meets on Saturday mornings at Lancaster Royal Grammar School during term time. We are seeking a Leader for the Junior Choir (KS1, 4-7 yrs) and the Intermediate Choir (KS2, 8-12 yrs). There is also a Senior Choir.Junior Choir meets from 9.15-9.45am and Intermediate Choir meets from 9.45-10.30am. The sessions are paid at £29.00 per hour. Both choirs usually perform in the end of term Family Concerts.We are looking for someone with experience in leading a children's choir, who is able to make the sessions enjoyable and fun and also teach the foundations of a good singing technique. Experience of Kodaly or Dalcroze techniques would be an advantage but not essential.Interviews will take place on a Saturday morning in September with an appointment being made for after October half term.
