A masterclass day on the Brahms Requiem (in the original German) for up to ten active conductors plus observers. Each active conductor will get the opportunity to work with a high level symphonic chorus comprising members of Wimbledon Choral Society and Constanza Chorus.
Neil Ferris and Joanna Tomlinson, leading the day, on their choice of the Brahms Requiem for the day:
"The Brahms Requiem is the most beautiful and moving piece, and definitely one that conductors should have in their repertoire.
It's vocally challenging for choirs with its sustained legato lines, a cappella passages and the demands of the language.
We'll be working on how to tackle these issues with choirs, both through vocal exercises and coaching skills and by discovering how your own conducting technique can help."
Price: Participants £90 abcd members, £100 non-members, Observers £30 abcd members, £40 non-members
