Live from London returns with a festive selection of your choral works, filmed live from VOCES8's church in the heart of London and from venues across the world.
The line-up includes hosts VOCES8, with vocal groups The Tallis Scholars, Take 6, I Fagiolini, The Choir of Westminster Abbey, London Adventist Chorale, ANÚNA, amarcord, The Aeolians, and Apollo5. Soloists in the series include baroque violinist Rachel Podger (A Guardian Angel) and baritone Roderick Williams (Solstice); Roderick also appears in Bach For Christmas.
The Gabrieli Consort & Players directed by Paul McCreesh present Bach For Christmas from St John's Smith Square, London: each of the six Christmas Oratorio cantatas will be broadcast on the day for which they were liturgically written.
Including six new commissions from Ken Burton, Melissa Dunphy, Jocelyn Hagen, Taylor Scott Davis, Paul Smith, Roderick Williams, and repertoire ranging from Bach, Praetorius, Eccard, Charpentier and Tallis, to Howells, Britten, Michael McGlynn, Alec Roth, Arvo Pärt, John Tavener, Ola Gjeilo all filmed in ultra high definition and featuring your favourite seasonal a cappella - Live From London is 'all you want for Christmas'.
Broadcast at 7pm, ticket holders will be able to tune in live and/or on demand from the date of broadcast until 15th January. Each broadcast concert lasts 60 minutes.
