Convention Conducting Masterclasses

Once again we are delighted to offer hands-on advice for conductors at Convention. Each session provides the opportunity for up to three conductors receiving 15-20 minutes' individual tuition, along with observer delegates. A repertoire list will be made available to successful applicants.

For conductors wanting experience conducting an orchestra - Saturday 25 August from 10.30am

A rare opportunity to conduct a choir and orchestra in a workshop setting, led by Opera North's Chorus Master, Oliver Rundell, with members of a local orchestra. In association with Making Music. For conductors working with young voices - Saturday 25 August at 4.30pm

With Susan Hollingworth and a choir of young singers in Years 7-13 from the Diocese of Leeds Singing Programme.

A wonderful chance to get first-hand tips from one of the UK's most experienced leader of young singers.

For conductors working with SATB choirs - Sunday 26 August at 12pm

With Frances Cooke and singers from local Leeds choirs

Tips and hints from the Associate Director of the Hallé Choir. This session has been designed to replicate the sort of rehearsal that most conductors of adult choirs take on a weekly basis and designed to give help with everyday problems of ensemble, tuning and balance.
