Association Of British Choral Directors

Congratulations to Choir of the Year winners!

We are delighted that this year's Choir of the Year competition was won by Voices of Hope, directed by former Advanced Course participant Simon Fidler. Bassist Mark Edwards is also on our current Advanced Course.

They were announced as winners at the finals in the Millennium Centre in Cardiff on 3rd December, with six choirs competing for the title. The other competitors were:

Musical Originals Training Choir, directed by Imogen Nicholls (Category Winner, Children's Choir of the Year)

The Rainbow Connection Singers, directed by Paul Mellors (Category Winner, Open Choir of the Year)

Côr y Cwm, directed by Elin Llywellyn-Williams (Category Winner, Youth Choir of the Year)

The White Rosettes, directed by Sally McLean (Wildcard)

John's Boys, directed by Aled Phillips (Wildcard)

We are also delighted to discover that one of our Young Conductor Day participants from Manchester this year, Jasmin Allpress was also involved in the competition, accompanying John's Boys. Congratulations to all finalists for a wonderful competition.
