Associate members Tenebrae and local choirs are giving the world premiere of Owain Park's Footsteps as part of the Hull City of Culture 2017 celebrations. The concert takes place on Thursday 18th May at 19:30 at Holy Trinity Church, Hull with Tenebrae's Artistic Director Nigel Short conducting.
Featuring a new commission by rising composer Owain Park which will see Tenebrae join with the City of Hull Youth Choir, Hull Choral Union and Holy Trinity Church Choir alongside Joby Talbot's powerful and moving Path of Miracles, this concert promises to be an evening of outstanding music-making.
Joby Talbot's Path of Miracles was the first major work commissioned by the award-winning professional vocal ensemble, Tenebrae, in 2005 and having received high acclaim ("an evocative odyssey" - The Times) returns this year for an extensive UK tour. To accompany its revival, Tenebrae has commissioned a unique new choral work by Owain Park, Footsteps, which marks the choir's fifteenth-anniversary season. Hull is the first performance on this tour and Tenebrae is delighted that the 2017 UK City of Culture will hear the world premiere of Owain Park's commission.
This concert is generously supported by Hull City Council and St Stephen's, Hull.
