Association Of British Choral Directors

Critically acclaimed British choir joins the line up for abcd Festival!

Chamber Choir of London are delighted to announce they will be special guests of The Association of British Choral Directors at their Choral Leader's Festival on Saturday August 24th at 7.30pm

Fresh from their Aldeburgh Festival debut last month and their No.1 album with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the choir under Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Dominic Ellis-Peckham will perform a special programme taken from their Surge Illuminare series, including works by Giovanni Palestrina, Dobrinka Tabakova, Roderick Williams, Kerry Andrew, Cecilia McDowall, Jocelyn Hagen and Owain Park at Birmingham's Bradshaw Hall at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Dominic Ellis-Peckham spoke of his excitement at today's announcement: "We're delighted to be appearing at this year's festival, joining a host of guest ensembles and conductors including László Nemes, John Rutter and Péter Erdei, and we're honoured to be bringing such a varied programme inspired by 'Radiant Beginnings', 'Thrones of Beauty' and 'Inspirations and Imaginations' at this year's festival".

Artistic Director of the abcd Festival and Chair of the abcd Trustees, Leslie East welcomed the involvement of Chamber Choir of London in this year's festival: "With our strong European slant this year we wanted to show off some of the best of British choirs to our European guests and Chamber Choir of London certainly represent the pinnacle of UK choral singing, bringing together some of the finest consort singers and enjoying a rich and imaginative repertoire".
