Choral music at its most vibrant will fill the splendid Duke's Hall at London's Royal Academy of Music throughout the weekend of 2-3 November 2024 as singers and conductors from the UK and around the world collaborate in an international celebration of the choral arts.
LICCC returns this year in partnership with ABCD, to offer a range of performances, educational activities and opportunities to network with other choral professionals throughout the weekend, including; an Advanced Masterclass for choral conductors delivered by four internationally renowned tutors, a Gala Concert featuring award-winning choirs from the UK, adjudicated competition sessions open to the public, and a world premiere performance and Grand Final in which one lucky winner will take home the coveted Trophy.
The London International Choral Conducting Competition was launched to great acclaim in 2018 and a distinguished international jury awarded a first prize of £5000 to Julia Selina Blank from Germany who has since gained competitive distinction worldwide and developed an exciting career as conductor of her own choir in Norway and Guest Conductor for several high profile European choirs. This year 15 conductors from around the world will come to London to compete in front of an international jury, comprising experts from Italy/Slovenia, Sweden, USA and the UK, and a suite of excellent British chamber choirs including Chantage, Commotio, Coro and Epiphoni Consort will both serve the competition and join for a Gala Concert which ought not to be missed.
