This year's course has been split into two:

Leading from the front

Perfect for anyone starting out in leading singing or who has limited experience. abcd's Director of Training Amy Bebbington gives practical, hands-on, help covering topics such as: the foundations of effective leadership skills, the conductor as singer, rehearsal strategies and more. If you are a teacher, community or choir leader of any kind, and wish to develop your skills in a supportive environment, then this course is definitely for you!

Advanced choral leadership

Designed to suit anyone who conducts their own choir regularly, to a high standard, and/or who has taken our Intermediate, Progressive or Advanced conducting courses. Julian Wilkins offers advice and leads discussion on topics including conducting gesture and non-verbal communication, applying vocal technique in the rehearsal, score preparation and choosing repertoire.

Both are practical courses designed for small groups in order to allow maximum conducting time for all course attendees. Repertoire lists will be sent out in advance.

The courses run from 3pm on Wednesday 21 August to 4pm on Thursday 22 August.
