Helston Chamber Choir, founded in 1971, originally as the Helston and Kerrier Music Society, is looking for a new musical director. The choir is mixed voice and has between 20 and 25 members. Over the past decade it has gained a reputation for performing less familiar repertoire ranging from the sixteenth to the twenty first century. Rehearsal night is on Tuesday in the Music Department of Helston Community College (Cornwall). Concerts are usually in late January and late June.
Applicants should ideally have experience of the choral repertoire and choral conducting and be happy to work with the choir's committee but with a high degree of musical freedom.
