Musical Director

Wales

Organisation: Cor Meibion Caerwys

The choir seeks a new Musical Director to succeed our existing MD who will be retiring in December, after our Christmas programme has been completed.

We will be looking to appoint a new MD in January 2017 or as soon as earliest possible.

The choir, one of the youngest male voice choirs in Wales, founded in 1999 and has a current membership of around 22 voices. Rehearsals are at 6:45 every Wednesday at St. Michael's Church (April to Oct) and Bethel Chapel (Nov. to March) in Caerwys, Flintshire, N.E. Wales. Other dates and times maybe considered by agreement.

Our repertoire covers a wide range, from classical, religious, folk songs, popular music and songs from the shows, so should prove attractive to applicants from all age ranges.

Our website is www.corcaerwys.org.uk and our facebook page is www.facebook.com/Cor-Meibion-Caerwys

Whilst an established choral conductor would be preferable, age is not an issue and the position might be suitable for someone committed to the genre of male voice singing and also seeking to develop their conducting skills and help the choir achieve their optimum potential.

Ty Cerdd funding may be available to aid with mentoring a young or inexperienced candidate in order for him/her to develop and grow with the choir to achieve their potential as mentioned above.

Enquiries are welcome from both ladies and gentlemen.

We value our Musical Director highly and pay appropriate remuneration.

Applications should include a current CV and sent to the secretary,
