Four choral scholarships of up to £750 p.a. are available at St John at Hackney (London E5 0PD). Singers aged 16-25 of all voice types are invited to apply and will enhance a choir of existing volunteers in a Sunday Choral Eucharist with Thursday evening rehearsal.

Person Specification
Applicants are expected to have significant choral experience, some sight-singing ability, musical leadership potential, time-management skills and above all an enthusiasm for liturgical singing. These posts would suit undergraduate university students or sixth formers based in East London who may be applying for university choral scholarships or considering pursuing a professional singing career, as well as those who wish to develop their choral singing ability. Scholars are expected to be in sympathy with the aims and ethos of St John at Hackney and the Church of England. Each scholarship lasts for one year, which is subject to renewal after that period, in consultation with the Rector and Director of Music.
Honorarium/Fees
Each scholar receives an honorarium of up to £750 (paid in termly instalments). Extra fees may be available for weddings throughout the year.
