Hart and Soul Community Choir is seeking an enthusiastic Musical Director, after five very happy years under the direction of Craig McLeish. We are a non-auditioned SATB choir of approximately 40 singers, and sing a range of musical styles. The choir is based in Hartwell, Northants, and performs locally 2-3 times a year. Rehearsals are currently held on Monday evenings during term time from 8.15-9.30pm at Hartwell Primary School, although there is scope to change this if necessary. You will need to be a creative and supportive MD, with a good sense of humour. The choir enjoys some spontaneity and an element of fun during rehearsals, whilst also striving to be the best we can. You will be willing to respond to some occasional input from the choir in the choice of songs, and be available to attend the Community Choirs Festival if the choir is participating. Candidates for the role will need to accompany themselves on piano/keyboard, and will be expected to audition at one of our rehearsals during the spring. It is envisaged that the new Musical Director will start in late April 2017, after Easter, but a later start date can be agreed with the successful candidate, if required.
