New Harmony Ladies Choir Bristol require an accompanist to start July 2017, this date is negotiable. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at the United Reformed Church, Muller Road, Bristol. It sings in a wide range of styles and performs several concerts a year.
In order to provide the level of service needed by the choir, the prospective accompanist will have the following essential qualities: Advanced keyboard skills - Grade 8+ ideal; Excellent sight-reading ability: piano stave: SSA staves, any combination thereof.
Experience and competence playing in a variety of styles - classical; musical theatre; pop and all sorts in between.
A high level of musicianship and sensitivity in ensemble playing.
Prior experience repetiteuring and/or playing for choral rehearsals would be very useful, and a little bit of improvisational ability is not essential but will also be helpful.
