Music Director

London & South East

Organisation: City of Canterbury Chamber Choir

The City of Canterbury Chamber Choir is seeking a new Conductor and Music Director, following the retirement after 21 years of its founding director, George Vass.

The choir is a group of between 30 and 35 amateur singers, with a proud tradition of quality and innovation. The standard of musicianship within the group is high; within a rehearsal pattern of two Sunday rehearsals plus a final rehearsal on concert day, the choir presents varied and challenging choral programmes. Its current repertoire places an emphasis on British choral music from the 20th and 21st centuries, promoting and performing the works of living composers.

The post carries a rehearsal and concert fee. It is hoped the new candidate will be in place for the first concert of the 2017/18 season in October 2017.

Further particulars, and details on how to apply can be obtained from Janet Mander (Trustee): j.e.mander@btinternet.com, or telephone 01227 478565.

The closing date for applications is Friday 7th April 2017.
