Anstruther Philharmonic Society seeks Musical Director

About the Choir:

The Anstruther Philharmonic Society is a choral society, based in the East Neuk of Fife, rehearsing and performing in and around Anstruther. We currently have about 50 members. We have a friendly and welcoming approach to everything we do and strive for high standards of performance. We have a Choral Scholars scheme where we have raised funds to offer bursaries to young people with an interest in choral singing to join the choir.

What the Choir does:

The choir meets for rehearsals on Tuesday evenings, with a Christmas Concert in December and a March Concert. 

The choir would like a phased handover between the existing Musical Director and a new Musical Director as follows:

October to December 2017: New appointee

January to March 2018: Mr Robert Dick

October to December 2018: New appointee offered contract if mutually agreeable

We are able to offer remuneration in the form of a fee per rehearsal plus a one-off payment for each concert to cover preparation and conducting.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview on the evening of 21 June in Pittenweem and also asked to conduct the choir for about 30 minutes on Tuesday 27 June in Pittenweem.
