Conductor

South

Organisation: Liss Community Choir

The Liss Community Choir, founded in 2011, is looking for a new conductor from September, on the retirement of Margaret Gussman who has run it since it began. The successful applicant will need experience of singing, energy, imagination and a good sense of humour. The post carries a modest honorarium.

The Choir, with currently 50 members, meets on Wednesday evenings in Liss Infant School, by kind permission of the Head teacher. We have three terms of ten sessions each year. We have a good piano accompanist. It is an non-auditioned mixed choir, and performs two or three times a year, with the major

concert in the summer that raises funds for local causes. Repertoire has included songs from the shows, songs by the Beatles, Queen, Simon and Garfunkel, as well as an occasional classical pieces.
