Chorus Master

Scotland

Organisation: Haddo Voices

Haddo Voices are two non-auditioned youth choirs and from these two a third, auditioned, ensemble is chosen.

Haddo Children's Voices (HCV) is for P 1-P5 and Haddo Girls and Boys Voices (HGBV) is from P6 - S6. Both choirs are are under the umbrella of Haddo House Choral & Operatic Society whose Musical Director is Dr Paul Tierney.

HHCOS is looking for an enthusiastic person to rehearse and conduct both these choirs from August 2017 - previous chorus master experience may not be necessary. The choirs currently perform twice a year at Haddo with the opportunity for members to sing solos. The Haddo Voices Ensemble perform with the adult choir at the Haddo House Chapel Christmas Concerts. The committee's wish is for these choirs to aim for competition entry.

The yearly programme is flexible and would be the choice of the chorus master with a range of genres from classical, modern, folk, jazz and broadway with an emphasis on nurturing young voices.

Rehearsals run during term time and are currently held in Ellon Parish Church on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening. These days, times and venue are entirely flexible and both choirs could potentially be on the same evening to suit the new appointee.

Remuneration for the post will be by negotiation.

Applications are invited together with a brief CV to be submitted electronically by 12th June to kimdavidson2005@aol.com
