Vacancy for Musical Director
Our present MD, Helen Smith, is relocating to Warwickshire and Penn Singers is seeking to appoint a new MD for October 2017. Helen has been with us for 7 years.
Penn Singers is a well established choir that has recently celebrated its 70th Anniversary.
We are a mixed voice choir of about 70 members with a reputation for a good standard of performance. The choir has a varied repertoire of classical, religious, popular and folk music as well as songs from the shows.
The choir rehearses on a Monday Evening at Penn United Reformed Church, Wolverhampton.
The applicant will ideally have had experience with a mixed voice choir and have knowledge of appropriate repertoire and should be able to demonstrate singing techniques and good teaching skills. The ability to work in harmony with the choir and its well organised, enthusiastic and supportive committee is essential as is his/her ability to plan a well structured, themed concert programme.
We are looking for an enthusiastic MD who will be committee to the long-term development of the choir. Remuneration will be by arrangement and agreement.
