Sittingbourne Orpheus Choral Society, well-established, mixed-voice choir based in Sittingbourne Kent
SOCS have been in existence for 72 years, we currently have 76 members with mixed musical abilities, and, we pride ourselves on being a friendly community. We are looking for a new Musical Director from January 2018 to extend our repertoire, musical standards, develop the choir to attract younger members, and meet our commitments already planned for 2018 and beyond.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 19:45 to 21:45 at Highsted School, Sittingbourne during term time.
We currently perform 3 to 4 times a year. In November 2018 we are organising a Swale wide event for The Armistice Memorial with 200+ voices singing with a 40 piece orchestra.
Successful applicants shortlisted will be asked to attend an Interview and if successful, direct part of the choir's rehearsal, on a Tuesday night. The interview dates will be arranged for a Saturday Mid January 2018 onwards and auditions with the choir will be in February / March 2018
The current remuneration package is £4,080 per annum for this position, paid quarterly in advance.
