Blackburn Music Society is looking to appoint a charismatic, freelance Musical Director with strong leadership skills, who will lead the choir of 90 members towards the next phase of development. Candidates must be available to delver four concert performances each year, some of which will require direction of a full orchestra. In addition direction of occasional less formal community related events will be expected.
Formed in 1933, Blackburn Music Society has a rich heritage of musical achievement and continues to the present day to deliver quality performances of choral works which aim to appeal to a diverse audience. The season runs from September to June and the choir rehearses weekly on Monday evenings.
The role can commence from September to January. The actual start date is negotiable within this time frame.
