Musical Director

Midlands

Organisation: The Lincoln Chorale

The Lincoln Chorale is an auditioned amateur chamber choir of around 40 voices. We are looking for an experienced choral director to rehearse and conduct the group, ideally starting after Easter 2018. We usually perform 3 concerts a year, one in each academic term. We rehearse in central Lincoln on Tuesday evenings during the academic term. The choir is run by a committee, but we usually rely on the MD to work in conjunction with the committee for concert repertoire. We like to perform a varied selection of music; recent performances have included the Rachmaninov Vespers in the Cathedral Chapter House, Dido and Aeneas in an outdoor Glyndebourne style venue and concerts which have included Carmina Burana, Monteverdi Madrigals and Verdi's Four Sacred Pieces. Concerts are usually in local venues in and around Lincoln, often with organ accompaniment, but occasionally with orchestral groups.

The position is remunerated, both for rehearsals and concerts. If you are interested and would like further information, please take a look at our website www.lincoln-chorale.org and contact us at admin@lincoln-chorale.org. Applications should be sent to admin@lincoln-chorale.org, including a CV. Note that the successful applicant would be required to provide relevant references and to undergo a DBS check in accordance with Making Music guidance. The closing date for this opportunity is 12th February.
