Organisation: Edinburgh University Renaissance Singers

The Edinburgh University Renaissance Singers (EURS) are looking for a new director.

We are a friendly choir, based within the University of Edinburgh and affiliated with the Edinburgh University Students' Association, which has been performing the finest renaissance choral repertoire for fifty years. We perform regularly in Edinburgh and round about, and have toured annually in the UK or Europe. We are committed to achieving the highest standards possible, and are looking for someone to build on what we have achieved and take the choir forward.

The choir currently consists of 33 members, two thirds of whom are students of the University, while the others are alumni and friends. This provides a good mixture of freshness and experience and makes for a dynamic and interesting group of people. Our choir social life is almost as important as our choir musical life, and we are looking for someone who will enjoy being part of this eclectic, welcoming and inclusive group.

If you have an interest in renaissance choral music, and are interested in working with a choir which sight-reads well, enjoys learning music quickly and performing it to a high standard, we would like to hear from you. We'll invite you to come to a rehearsal, meet the choir, and show us something of your rehearsal and conducting style.

A modest honorarium may be paid.

If you are interested in finding out more and possibly becoming our new director, please email the Choir President, Hannah Mayr (hannah.mrs@gmail.com) by 14th February 2018 to tell us about your relevant interests and experience.
