Scotland

Organisation: Calton Consort

Calton Consort is a chamber choir based in Edinburgh, rehearsing in the historic Canongate Kirk on Tuesday nights, and giving three concerts a year. We are looking for a new conductor - full details can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/yc9zwqke

ABOUT THE CHOIR
Calton Consort has established itself as one of Edinburgh's most prominent and well-loved chamber choirs, performing a varied and challenging repertoire to high acclaim. Performances are often a cappella and characterised by fresh and dynamic interpretations of works from a wide range of eras, with an emphasis on less frequently performed compositions.

The choir comprises around 30 singers and typically performs three concerts a year with occasional additional performances, including appearances at the Edinburgh International and Fringe festivals. Admission to the choir is by audition; there are no re-auditions. We rehearse and perform the majority of our concerts at Canongate Kirk, Edinburgh. In a recent survey of our choir members the three most important aspects of Calton Consort were: the quality of singing, the interesting and diverse repertoire and the strong social aspect of the choir.
