Bath Choral Society is seeking an outstanding rehearsal accompanist. The post is available from September 2018 and interested candidates will be asked to audition with us at rehearsal during September or October.
Principal Duties
To accompany weekly, mostly term time rehearsals, on Wednesday evenings, with occasional extra rehearsals to prepare for our 4 concerts per year plus our appearance at Bath's Party In the City Festival
To assist Musical Director in audition of new members, and re-auditioning of existing members before Wednesday rehearsals
To take sectional rehearsals as required
To deputise for conductor at full rehearsals as required and by prior arrangement
To contribute to planning and choir development alongside MD and committee
To perform in concerts if required, including the biennial tour
The Accompanist will be engaged on a self employed basis, responsible for their own tax and national insurance. The current rate of pay is £65 for each Wednesday evening session. Extra rehearsals will be paid pro rata. Concerts, workshops and tours, if applicable, are paid separately. Rates of pay are reviewed annually.
