Organisation: Grantham Choral Society

Grantham Choral Society is seeking a Musical Director to Start in September 2019. The choir was founded in 1963 and currently is made up of approximately 60 enthusiastic members. Numbers are on the increase. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 - 9.15 and a rehearsal pianist is employed.

The choir performs four concerts each year. One Autumn concert usually with organ/piano accompaniment and two Christmas carol concerts. The Spring concert takes place in the splendid setting of St Wulfram's Church with orchestra. Professional soloists are employed for both the Autumn and Spring concerts.

The choir has covered most of the standard choral repertoire over the years, most recently performing Jonathan Dove's 'For an Unknown Soldier' and Mozart's Requiem. In May 2019 Handek's Jephtha will form the Spring concert.

The committee are looking for someone who will prove to be inspiring, well organised and a good communicator. Standard rates of pay are available in connection with this post.
