We are seeking a new conductor from September to succeed our current conductor who has had to leave for family reasons. Based just outside of Southampton in the New Forest, the Woodside Singers is an association of approx 40 amateur singers governed by a constitution and run by a committee elected from the choir members. We sing a wide-variety of four-part music, generally to piano accompaniment. Recent performances included songs from the shows at St John's Church in Hythe, Puccini's Gloria at Beaulieu Abbey and the John Rutter Requiem at Romsey Abbey with the Woodside Chamber Orchestra.
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic conductor who can continue to build on the choir's recent achievements. A focus on enjoying the music along with an understanding of efficient/balanced rehearsals for a mixed ability choir would also be advantageous.
