Organisation: Polymnia chamber choir

Polymnia is a high quality chamber choir with 21 members based in Milton Keynes; Lesley Garrett is our Patron. We are looking for an outstanding musician with the personal qualities to motivate and bring out the best in choir members so that we can sustain and enhance our musical standards and our reputation for quality performances. The choir rehearses on an as-needed basis for planned events (usually on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons) and normally performs three concerts each year, plus a range of other events including foreign tours and trips to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The breadth of music which we sing is extremely wide, dating from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works and ranging from the classics to lighter numbers including folk songs, arrangements of songs from shows and musicals, and even film blockbusters. We have worked with Lesley Garrett to design and present two highly successful joint concerts. After our last concert together in June she said 'I was thrilled at the sound the choir made.. you have some excellent singers and together make a beautiful sound'.

The post will be available from January 2020. The closing date for applications is Saturday 3rd August. Full information is available at www.polymnia.org.uk on the Musical Director Application tab.

Rehearsal and concert fees will be negotiated and are expected to be within the range suggested by Making Music. Agreed travel expenses will be paid in addition.
