Musical Director

Village Voices is a community SATB choir with approx. 20 members of varying musical experience based in Witton le Wear. We sing a wide range of repertoire mainly for fun and enjoy performing locally to support community events such as our Village Fair and Durham Vocal Festival. In the two years since the choir started we have surprised ourselves by becoming reasonably competent but sadly our founding Musical Director Philippa Dearsley retired this year and we need someone with choral expertise, a love of all kinds of music and a sense of humour to guide and inspire us.

We meet on Tuesday evenings and have an excellent accompanist as well as some experienced musicians in the choir, so we are able to rehearse independently. This means the role could be on a part-time basis and we are happy to be flexible about arrangements and fees so please do get in touch if you think you might like to work with us.
