Cherwell Choral Society (previously known as Warriner Choral Society) is a long established non auditioned choral society based in Bloxham, North Oxfordshire, currently with around 90 members, rehearsing on Tuesday evenings. It has acquired a reputation for producing high quality performances, with three or four concerts a year supported by professional musical director, accompanist, orchestra and soloists.
Our current MD is moving on after 15 very successful years, and we are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic replacement, to start in January 2021. This is an exciting opportunity for a new MD to work with us to advance even further the reputation of the choir, to achieve outstanding concert performances of a varied repertoire, and to provide an enjoyable and stimulating experience for choir members both at rehearsal and concert. We expect that the successful candidate will have a music degree, several years experience conducting mixed voice choirs, a good knowledge of the classical choral repertoire, and the ability to achieve rapport and generate enthusiasm in our choir.
