Organisation: The Triple H Community Choir

From January 2020 The Triple H Community Choir seek a professional Accompanist.

We are a 35 strong SATB Community Choir serving the three neighbouring South Essex villages of Hockley, Hawkwell and Hullbridge. The choir was founded in 2012 by Ashley Thompson BA ALCM, who continues to be our Director of Music and maintains a light hearted but creative and thorough artistic control of all aspects of choir life. We sing the broadest range of styles possible, and at present we perform two full length concert programmes a year, usually in July and December.

We have competed twice in the Leigh Music Festival and were awarded the Silver Medal in 2018 and the Gold Medal in 2019. We rehearse at Hockley & Hawkwell Methodist Church, Main Road, Hockley, Essex, SS5 4QY between 7.30pm and 9.15pm on Monday evenings during term time.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a confident accompanist and sight-reader, of at least Grade 8 standard, ideally higher;
• Have a positive, no-fuss, flexible and professional manner, and be able to work well as part of the team including the Director of Music, Choir and Committee;
• Be prepared to take sectional rehearsals as an integral part of the role;
• Give as much notice as possible of any occasional absences, and provide a competent deputy when unable to attend.
