Clevedon Choral is a non-auditioned, mixed ability, SATB choir with membershipÂ
currently fluctuating between 40 and 50. We were established just over 30 years ago, are friendly, welcome new members and fresh challenges and enjoy our music. We want to continue to improve and work hard as we have done under our retiring Musical Director Elinor Cooper, whilst having fun and enjoying ourselves. We are seeking an experienced, gifted, enthusiastic and creative Musical Director who, with the help of our talented accompanist Richard Lennox, will enable us to improve our performance, grow our numbers and build on singing opportunities.
We rehearse at Kenn Road Methodist Church from 7.30pm to 9.30pm from the beginning of September untilApril. During June and July we have an informal summer choir for around six weeks culminating in an outdoor performance in a local park, or on the pier. We perform two main concerts each year and for the past four years have been part of Christmas at Tyntesfield. We have sung a mixture of traditional and modern choral works and are open to a wide variety of music. In October we hosted, co-organised and formed the major part of the community choir that performed, with North Somerset Music Services and local young musicians and singers, Mark Lawrence's 'Time and Tide' community opera.
