A pianist+organist is needed to accompany the choir from 7.15 pm - 9.30 pm on Monday evenings, and a willingness to take sectional rehearsals from time to time would be an advantage. We rehearse in St. James Road Methodist Church Hall, St. James Road, Shirley, Southampton SO15 5HE.
Southampton Choral Society is an enthusiastic amateur SATB choir of just over 80 members. We celebrated our 75th anniversary last year and are looking forward to the next 75 years!
We give 3 concerts a year, in Spring, Autumn and at Christmas, in addition to which we take part in various civic events in Southampton, such as the Remembrance Service and 'Music in the City'.
We offer standard rates of pay and, depending on the repertoire, the accompanist may be invited to take part in our concerts, for which a concert fee would be applicable.
