The Burnham & Highbridge Choral Society is a friendly, non-auditioned choir based in Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset, and currently has 50 - 60 members with differing levels of musical ability and experience. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30 pm.
We are looking for a dynamic and motivational choral conductor with excellent communication skills, a sense of fun and a clear directing style to lead our rehearsals and concerts.
Traditionally there have been two concerts each year, at Christmas and in Spring. The Spring Concert usually features an orchestral ensemble and guest soloists. In the simmer term, a few of us get together to have an informal Summer Sing.
The choir works with a professional accompanist for rehearsals and performances and has generally performed a repertoire of sacred, secular, classical and stage music.
The appointment will be from September 2020 and comes with a remuneration dependent on experience.
