Organisation: Belper Singers

Belper Singers is a friendly, experienced SATB choir of around 30 voices, most of whom live in or near Belper. We enjoy singing a cappella and accompanied music from 16th to 21st centuries. Our present conductor, Tom Dobney, is leaving this summer to take up a teaching post in Switzerland so we are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced director who will continue to develop our musical and singing skills. We are not afraid of trying new works and last year performed Cloudburst by Eric Whitacre and the Lauridsen Nocturnes. Our recent concerts include Mozart's Requiem accompanied by piano duet and this April we were due to perform Faure's Requiem with strings, horn and organ until the Coronavirus epidemic halted our plans. The choir performs three main concerts a year and supports local events too. We sing in venues around Derbyshire including churches, arts centres and historic buildings such as Haddon Hall. We have sung in a number of cathedrals including Birmingham and Southall Minster.

The closing date is not fixed as we are waiting until the choir is advised that it is safe to meet for a rehearsal.
