Ashford Choral Society is seeking an experienced Accompanist for our new season starting in September 2021.
Ashford Choral Society is one of the longest-running societies in existence, with a history of music-making since 1857.
Currently there is a membership of around 120 singers who usually perform three or four concerts each season during the period September to May. Every year the choir has the opportunity to perform some of the major works of the choral repertoire with leading soloists and a professional symphony orchestra. The society also holds an annual carol concert to raise money for chosen charities.
We rehearse on a Tuesday evening from 7.30-9.15 in Ashford.
We are looking for a skilled pianist with outstanding sight-reading and score reading skills to accompany weekly rehearsals. Ideally we are seeking to appoint a candidate who can play organ/harpsichord for concerts where this is required. The Accompanist will be engaged on a self-employed basis, responsible for their own tax and national insurance.
