We are a well established fully auditioned mixed SATB choir of around 80 singers seeking a new Music Director following the relocation of our MD for 10 years Christopher Cromar. He achieved a high standard of performance and inspired a high level of commitment from singers. We have not met in person since March 2020 but have continued with online activities and short rehearsals via Zoom. The pandemic has affected us in many ways but we intend to meet as normal from September 2021 and are seeking a new MD who will help to re-energise the choir when we return.
We meet in term time for approximately 10 weeks per term preparing for 4 concerts a year, usually held in Congleton Town Hall. Rehearsals are held at Trinity Church, Wagg Street, Congleton each Monday at 7.30pm. We also hold occasional singing days open to non members.
We are seeking a leader who will provide new challenges and combine their own ideas with ours for future programmes. We have a highly skilled accompanist, so we are looking for an enthusiastic leader who is encouraging, innovative and patient with a good sense of fun. This is a paid position based on a fee per rehearsal and per concert which will be discussed at interview.

We plan to interview candidates by early July and audition short listed candidates in early August. Candidates will be asked to conduct a short rehearsal with the choir, restrictions allowing, with our regular accompanist. We hope the successful candidate will open our 2021/22 season on Monday 6th September 2021.
