3 Choral Scholarships (Soprano, Tenor, and Bass)

London & South East

Organisation: St Mark's Church, Wimbledon

St Mark's Church in Wimbledon is offering three choral scholarships (one Soprano, Tenor, and Bass) to support the volunteer choir in singing for the Sunday 10am Communion Service. St Mark's is next to Wimbledon Station and easily reached by Underground, Overground, National Rail, and Bus.

The Scholarships are created with undergraduate students in mind, but sixth formers and recent graduates are also very welcome to apply. There is a termly honorarium of £300 (singing approximately 10 Sundays in each term) with opportunities to sing for extra services with additional fees. There is no weekly rehearsal other than meeting at 9:15 prior to the Sunday service, so decent sight-reading skills and confidence holding a part alone (or a willingness to develop these) will be advantageous for applicants.

St Mark's is relaxed, inclusive, and welcoming church which uses traditional hymns and music. The friendly choir is not robed. The choir leads the singing of hymns, responsorial psalms, a congregational setting, and sings an anthem during the distribution of Communion.
