Chesterton Choral Society, based in Cambridge, is looking to appoint a new Musical Director. CCS is a non-auditioned SATB choir of approx 25 members, down from 45 before Covid. We perform a wide repertoire of music including requiems and other standard choral works, seasonal music, folk songs and songs from shows. We rehearse on Monday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30, usually with 10-13 rehearsals per term. CCS works to a three-term programme with a concert at the end of each term.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and able musician with good communication and conducting skills. They will be responsible for developing the choir's ability and building an engaging rehearsal programme that is motivating and fun for current members and that will also appeal to new members as part of our drive to increase membership. Fees and expenses will be pain in negotiation with the applicant.
