Liverpool Barbershop Harmony Club, performing under the banner of the Grand National Chorus, is seeking a new Musical Director as soon as possible, to lead them to new and improved performance heights. The male or female director should be positive, energetic and enjoy a challenge.
The successful applicant will take firm control of all aspects of the chorus’s musical direction and will be assured of the full support of the music team.
The chorus celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014, having achieved well over 1,000 performances. It currently has 21 members, singing a four part a cappella harmony repertoire of both traditional and contemporary songs.
The chorus rehearses every Thursday evening at the Lee Park Golf Club, Childwall Valley Road, Gateacre, Liverpool L27 3YA between 8 pm and 10 pm and has an Open Night on the first Thursday in the month.
The club’s prime objectives are to enlarge the chorus and enhance its professionalism; shortly after the director’s appointment, it is committed to arranging a full Learn to Sing recruitment course in partnership with the British Association of Barbershop Singers. The director’s full involvement would be crucial.
