Choir Leader

Midlands

Organisation: Rock Choir

We have an opportunity for a charismatic and talented Derbyshire-based professional musician to join our team to run choirs in Chesterfield , Matlock, Worksop, Retford & and other areas. This a rewarding position musically. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK and remain the most popular and high-profile. We have won three Guinness World Records, achieved two top-twenty albums, and been the subject of a three-part ITV1 documentary The Choir That Rocks.

Applicants should have very competent piano and vocal skills and a charismatic and energetic personality. There is no need to have led choirs before but commitment and self-motivation is paramount. The role is a fulfilling one, with the chance to change people's lives through our music, performance and teaching.

The ability to work enthusiastically as a team player is key (no divas please!) Successful applicants will join the current team of more than 60 friendly, supportive and outgoing musicians who are already enjoying their career with the UK's favourite contemporary choir. Opportunities to perform on stage and on TV come with the job. You would work a 4 day week leading choirs learning popular songs with 1 additional regular training day per month and work 30-35 weeks per year with our long holidays. Arrangements and many other resources and support are provided. Your choirs would mostly take place on weekday evenings and you would be leading the choir members (who will become like an extended family to you) to concerts locally and nationally

Own car and portable piano and PA are essential. Please note that you will be able to fit your other musical passions or commitments around leading the choirs.

If you can't see past your summer schedule or your end of year exams do apply now as training will take place after these commitments with the aim of leading your choirs from this January.\n\n

Here is a quote about the role from one of our choir leaders - "I really enjoy working as choir leader. I work with a great team of people, have lots of fun and I am very proud of the choirs I teach, who in a very short space of time have come together to make a fantastic sound. The job satisfaction with this role is tremendous." Jan Moll (Hampshire Rock Choir Leader)
