Choral Conducting: An Intermediate Guide

A new one day training course for everyone who has either successfully completed our Initial or Emerging level of training, or those who already have experience of leading a choir regularly and are looking for training to develop their skills. This fully interactive day will include individual podium time for all participants and will cover key topics such as:

Sarah Tenant-Flowers is one of the most experienced tutors in the UK, working in an engaging and positive manner with choral conductors at all stages of their development, from complete beginners through to postgraduate and professional directors. In huge demand as a conducting teacher Sarah tutored on BBC2's 'Maestro' series and currently works at Oxford University, the Royal Welsh and Birmingham Conservatoires and Sing for Pleasure. Formerly CEO of The Sixteen and a founder director of the Association of British Choral Directors she also directs the UK's flagship professional female vocal ensemble Papagena.

The versatile array of professional and amateur groups with which Sarah has worked internationally include the Hilliard Ensemble, Chamber Choir Ireland, Cape Town Philharmonic, Düsseldorf's Friedenkirche Chor, Reading Bach and English Baroque Choirs, Harlow Chorus and her own professional choir Singscape. As a guest chorusmaster she has worked with numerous choirs including both the BBC Symphony Chorus and Dubai Opera Festival Chorus for Proms performances and regularly works with a wide range of groups from chamber choirs such as Commotio and VoxCantab to community groups including the CBSO's ensemble SOVocal.

Leading Singing in Secondary Schools: Get them singing, keep them singing
Twilight training sessions online for anyone working with singers of secondary school age Each session includes 60 minutes of training plus 15 minutes for discussion.
