Rehearsal accompanist

The South Somerset Choral Society is an established (we have just celebrated our 50th anniversary) and successful choir with some 80 unauditioned and very friendly members from Chard, Crewkerne, Iliminster and surrounding areas. We put on concerts of predominantly classical music from all eras, usually with orchestra, under our Musical Director Tim Donaldson, and we are looking for a new professional rehearsal accompanist to start in September 2018.
 

The rehearsal period for our two main concerts (Autumn and Spring) and Christmas events runs from September to March, with some additional rehearsals for a less formal event in the summer. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings 7:30pm to 9:30pm (sometimes a little over) in Barrington Village Hall, near Ilminster, Somerset, or occasionally elsewhere if that is not available.

This role is likely to suit someone qualified to a high standard or with suitable equivalent experience. A fee is payable on a per rehearsal basis.
