Musical Director

London & South East

Organisation: Ashtead Choral Society

Ashtead Choral Society invites applicants for the post of Musical Director, commencing September 2018 or January 2019.

The post will provide an exciting opportunity for a conductor wishing to work with a leading, South-East based choral society, which has been performing for nearly 70 years in the Surrey area. We are searching for a Musical Director to take us into the next phase of our history.

The successful candidate will take the baton from our present MD, James Henshaw, Chorus Master of ENO, with whom we have performed, inter alia, Britten's War Requiem, Tippett's Child of Our Time, Brahms' Requiem, and Vaughan Williams' Mass in G minor.

Candidates must have experience of training adult choirs in classical choral and lighter musical repertoire. They must show recent evidence of having worked with amateur or professional choirs and with professional orchestras, ensembles and soloists.

We rehearse from September to June on Monday term time evenings in Ashtead, Surrey.

Information about the choir together with details of the post and how to apply can be found at www.ashteadchoralsociety.org.uk. Closing date for applications is Friday 27th April 2018.
