Beating Time is a charity running weekly singing groups in prisons (www.beatingtime.org). We are looking for a committed and versatile musical director for our new group in HMP/YO East Sutton Park - an open women's prison near Maidstone, Kent. Weekly rehearsals will be on Tuesday evenings - 5.30-7.30pm. Our groups are non-auditioning and the key is to build self-confidence and well-being, as well as musicality, helping the members in their journey back to society and work on release. We are looking to appoint someone who will be excited about working with a diverse group of women and who can appreciate the challenges they face and who values what they can offer. The successful candidate will need to complete security clearance to work in the prison sector (if not already obtained) and will be trained by the establishment to carry keys.
