Hillfoot Harmony is a non-profit performance choir who specialise in close harmony a cappella using a variety of genres and arrangements. Established in 2004, we aim to perform a wide repertoire, developing our skills as singers and giving back to the community through local performances, as well as taking part in competitions and festivals.
Our Musical Director is stepping down after 17 years in the role and we are now searching for a new MD to work with us on continuing our musical journey. We are looking for someone with a knowledge of vocal techniques, conducting skills and the enthusiasm to continue our musical development and explore different types of a cappella music. Whilst our origins are in barbershop, we also sing non-barbershop arrangements and are happy to diversify into other styles under a new leadership.
We are based in Dollar, Clackmannanshire, and rehearse on a Wednesday 7.30 - 9.30pm in the Burnside Hall. Members come from Dollar and the surrounding area, including Kinross, Milnathort, Alloa, Clackmannan and Menstrie. For the past 16 months we have held weekly rehearsals on zoom, led by members of the music team but we aim to meet again in person by the start of September 2021.
